weekly basis. Ice fisherman head to various lakes
in the area, including Georgetown Lake.
Summer recreation is even more varied! Georgetown Lake is popular
for Southwestern Montana fishing, sailing and water skiing. The Anaconda-Pintler
Wilderness has miles of backcountry trails for horseback riding and hiking.
Blue ribbon trout fishing is just over the hill at Rock Creek.
Mountain bikers, ATV riders and other trail users have access to many old mining
roads in the national forest. Three golf courses are located
nearby community of Anaconda, including the Jack Nicklaus designed Old
Works Golf Course and Fairmont
Hot Springs Resort.
Fall brings the opening of the big game hunting
season to Southwestern Montana. The area is known for producing trophy elk and bighorn sheep, as well as some nice bucks, moose, mountain goats, and black bears. County Museum and Cultural Center. The museum has exhibits on

concerts and plays are held during the year and current movie releases
are shown on weekends. The Rocky
Mountain Accordion Celebration was held in town the past two
summers.
Several art galleries and antique shops are located in the business
district.
Popular tourist stops are the Sapphire
Gallery and the Sweet
Palace. You can spend your free time exploring some of the nearby
Southwestern Montana ghost
towns or looking for sapphires at Gem Mountain.
